- new channel partners on board to meet growing demand for Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice recognition software -
LONDON, UK., 13 June 2007 – Nuance Communications (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced that it has signed five new UK resellers and one additional UK distributor to its recently announced Certified Solutions Provider Partner Programme. The appointments have been made as Nuance seeks to satisfy growing customer demand for Dragon NaturallySpeaking, the world’s best-selling desktop speech recognition software, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.
The latest Dragon NaturallySpeaking resellers to be appointed include: Invate Ltd (Newcastle); Keytools (Southampton); IT Your Way (West London); Easy PC (Cork) and Nivotec (Belfast). The latest distributor is John George Business Machines, based in Plymouth. This is a new stationery channel distributor that should provide access to an additional 3500 new resellers. Theses recently added channel partners complement Nuance’s existing authorised resellers and distributors.
Nuance’s Certified Solutions Provider Program has been developed to demonstrate Nuance’s commitment to its UK and Ireland channel partners. The program’s key goals are to help its authorized partners increase their revenue and profits, differentiate their products and services while simplifying their business interaction with Nuance. The program comprises two partnership levels; Certified Partners who need to represent and maintain a high degree of competence and expertise with the Nuance product line, and Gold Certified Partners, the premier level of the Certified Solutions Partner Program who have access to the “Volume License Program”, together with additional resources and support required to be prominent in the marketplace.
Speaking about Nuance’s channel partner appointments, Neil Grant, Nuance’s Regional Sales Director said: “Our recently appointed channel partners will not only help to fulfil current demand for Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but with their respective areas of expertise and established customer bases, they will be able to introduce the benefits of desktop speech technology to an even larger number of potential customers.”
He added: “The demand for Dragon NaturallySpeaking is being driven by that fact that millions of people are using the PC as an interface to their personal and professional lives. Those that spend a lot of time at the keyboard are starting to realize the benefits that speech technology offers over a conventional keyboard and mouse.”
Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 1.0 was introduced in April 1997 as the first general-purpose continuous-speech recognition solution for the PC. Its revolutionary feature was to enable users to speak normally – eliminating the tedious word-at-a-time approach that was then state-of-the-art. In just ten short years, Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 9 has moved the speech recognition category from one viewed as niche and speculative to one where speech recognition has become a mainstream application for personal computer users, as well as a critical technology for mobile and search applications.
In the UK, Dragon NaturallySpeaking is used by a wide range of organisations to transform working processes and deliver new levels of productivity. Leading inventory firm e-ventory, attributes its rapid growth to the role that Dragon NaturallySpeaking has played in helping it to complete and submit accurate inventory reports within minutes of them being dictated. Today, this speed-advantage allows e-ventory to service more clients than before, helping the business to grow and expand into new territories.
