Nuance Announces Senior EMEA Appointment

Steve Miller Joins Nuance as Senior Vice President and General Manager to Drive Growth

London, UK – 01 October 2007 – In line with its objective to further expand its presence globally and drive more demand for its speech, imaging and healthcare solutions, Nuance Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUAN) today announced a senior appointment to its EMEA management team. Steve Miller joins Nuance as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Nuance EMEA. Targeting existing and emerging markets, Steve Miller will work closely with Nuance partners, customers and prospects across EMEA to capitalize on new growth opportunities and drive further adoption of speech and imaging applications. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Miller has 20 years experience in the software industry, demonstrating consistent success in business start-ups, turn-arounds and established Fortune 500 companies. He has driven exceptional growth with blue-chip enterprise organizations including Oracle Corporation, Siebel Systems (joining Siebel pre-IPO) and Macromedia/Adobe. Mr. Miller has also excelled in a variety of executive roles, leading organizational change for business optimization. His experience spans both European and International geographies, and extends across direct sales and two-tier distribution/reseller business models with particular focus on key verticals including finance, telecommunication, eCommerce and mobile.

Most recently Steve Miller ran EMEA in Cramer through to its acquisition and integration into Amdocs; in his prior role as Vice-President EMEA Macromedia, Steve Miller introduced a hugely successful Enterprise sales strategy, enabling the organization to profitably extend its business model from designers and developers through to the enterprise.
