Dictaphone PowerScribe Workstation for Pathology brings easy to use speech recognition to today's Pathology Departments seeking enhanced doctor productivity and significant cost savings to the organisation. PowerScribe Workstation unites Nuance's high-accuracy pathology language model, developed by analyzing hundreds of thousands of pathology reports, with ergonomically designed hands-free dictation tools. Doctors use a new USB-based headset and foot pedal for dictation, combined with navigation and control of the dictation session through voice commands, reducing the need to touch the keyboard and mouse. In addition, the software incorporates voice commands and controls. This combination allows a great deal of user flexibility in the recording and playback of dictated voice files, as well as in the navigation of templates and report fields.

Reports (Gross, Micro, Final, etc.) can be configured to support any number of pathology report sections and can seamlessly upload sections individually to an organisation's Laboratory Information System/Anatomic Pathology System.
Multiple authors per report
Allows for multiple authors to dictate their sections of the entire report, and have those sections uploaded to the LIS/AP system.
Preliminary uploads of individual report sections
Offers the option to upload individual report sections if needed so referring doctors have the information they need on a timely basis.
Resident/Attending workflow support
Reports can automatically be routed from residents to their assigned attending doctor for final review and sign-off, streamlining the workflow for the attending doctor.
Doctor Self
Editing and Delegated Editing Capabilities-Allows doctors on a report-by-report basis to self-edit their own speech-recognized reports, or forward them for transcription editing.

To ensure that PowerScribe Workstation fits into your IT environment, Nuance offers an HL7 interface with your departments Information Systems. Appropriate visit information and patient demographics are delivered to PowerScribe Workstation for presentation to the doctor when dictating, and completed reports are uploaded back to the central system.
